He has been the principal conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of Johannesburg, South Africa, and Resident conductor of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, as well as assistant concertmaster of the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra and principal second violin in the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
